Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. John K. Mathew, pastor of Indian Pentecostal Church Tabernacle, Dallas, Inc. is a man of sincere faith who has a genuine love for God’s people and honors the call the Lord has placed upon him to share the gospel of Christ with others. He is being used in the mighty hands of God as a proven leader and well-known preacher, teacher, writer and author of the famous book, “First Century Ministry in the Twenty First Century.”

Pastor Mathew says his encouragement to be in the vineyard came from his parents, late Pastor & Mrs. K.T Mathew, who showed deep faith in the Lord and commitment to serve others with humility and honesty, despite facing many struggles and adversities. The dynamic ministry of his brother, Rev. Dr. Thompson K. Mathew, also influenced him to a great extent.

Rev. Mathew completed his postgraduate degrees in History and Sociology at Kerala University. Before coming to US he was on the faculty at India Bible College, Kumbanad, Kerala, and served as chief editor of the monthly publication, “The Trumpet.”

After serving a couple of years as the senior pastor of India Christian Assembly, Pasadena, Texas, he pursued his education with Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned his MA degree in Christian Education. Later, Rev. Mathew moved to Los Angeles, California and served as an Associate Pastor of Calvary Hosanna Korean church for four years. In 2006, he was appointed as the Senior Pastor of Indian Pentecostal Church, Hebron, Los Angeles, and served in this capacity until 2011. Along with his pastoral ministry in California, Rev. Mathew continued his education at Biola University and earned his Doctorate in Intercultural Education.

In 2011, Dr. Mathew returned to Kerala to strengthen the work in I.P.C. Mavelikkara (W) district, where he has been serving as the District Minister for the past 13 years. During this time he also served as the Vice Principal of the English Section of the India Bible College and Seminary, Kumbanad, and as chief editor of the monthly, “Revive.”

Since June 2013, Rev. Dr. John K Mathew has been serving as the Pastor and President of Indian Pentecostal Church Tabernacle, Dallas, Inc. As Pastor of our assembly, he has a vision to see God’s will fulfilled through effective ministry. He knows the importance of restoring people, saving souls and giving people purpose and direction in their lives. He is committed to going the extra mile to guide people to wholeness and completeness in Christ and to provide a ministry where there is total freedom to worship and praise God.

Rev. Dr. John K. Mathew is truly a man of deep faith and a walking example of what he preaches. His wife Shirley, a prayer warrior, provides great strength and support to his ministry. The I.P.C. Tabernacle family is blessed to have Rev. Dr. Mathew as our pastor.
